스트레이 키즈(Stray Kids)가 11월 10일 새 미니 앨범 '樂-STAR'(락스타)와 타이틀곡 '락 (樂)'을 발매한다.
 
스트레이 키즈는 2022년 'ODDINARY'(오디너리)와 'MAXIDENT'(맥시던트), 2023년 6월 정규 앨범 '★★★★★ (5-STAR)'(파이브스타)까지 세 작품이 미국 '빌보드 200' 3연속 1위에 등극하며 'K팝 4세대 선두주자'로서 기세를 떨쳤다. 일본 후쿠오카 페이페이 돔, 반테린 돔 나고야, 교세라 돔 오사카, 도쿄돔까지 K팝 4세대 보이그룹 최초로 일본 4대 돔 공연장 입성을 기록한 '5-STAR Dome Tour 2023' 일환 일본 4개 도시 8회 공연은 사전 응모만 약 250만 건을 넘어서며 뜨거운 인기를 증명하며 초고속 전석 매진을 달성했다. 또한 지난해 9월 'Stray Kids 2nd World Tour "MANIAC" Seoul Special (UNVEIL 11)'(스트레이 키즈 두 번째 월드투어 "매니악" 서울 스페셜 (언베일 11))로 KSPO DOME에 입성한 이들은 올해 10월 국내 최대 실내 공연장으로 손꼽히는 고척돔에서 열린 단독 콘서트 'Stray Kids '5-STAR Dome Tour 2023 Seoul Special (UNVEIL 13)''(파이브스타 돔 투어 2023 서울 스페셜 (언베일 13))까지 초고속 매진시키며 눈부신 성장세를 뽐냈다.

'樂-STAR'는 정규 3집 발매 이후 약 5개월 만에 선보이는 새 앨범으로 전작 '★★★★★ (5-STAR)'와 유기성을 지닌다. 즐길 줄 아는 특별한 사람들이라는 의미와 함께 한 시대를 풍미하는 록스타가 되겠다는 당찬 포부를 풀어냈다. 특히 "어떤 상황에서도 우리의 락(樂)은 계속된다"는 앨범이 품은 당찬 메시지에서 세상의 모든 리스너들과 함께 즐길 수 있는 음악을 만들겠다는 그룹의 자신감이 느껴진다.
 
즐길 줄 아는 자들의 축제의 장으로 글로벌 K팝 리스너들을 초대한 스트레이 키즈의 음악적 자부심은 '樂-STAR'의 트랙리스트에서도 다시 한번 마주할 수 있다. 타이틀곡 '락 (樂)'을 필두로 'MEGAVERSE'(메가버스), '사각지대', 'COMFLEX'(콤플렉스), '가려줘', 'Leave'(리브), 일본 첫 EP 앨범 타이틀곡 'Social Path (Feat. LiSA)'(소셜 패스) 한국어 버전과 '락 (樂) (Rock Ver.)'까지 총 8곡이 수록됐다. 직접 만든 음악으로 '빌보드 200' 3연속 1위라는 기록을 거둔 이들이 새 미니 음반 크레디트에 이름을 수놓으며 또 하나의 웰메이드 작품을 탄생을 예고하고 음악적 '즐거움'을 선물한다.
 
2018년 3월 정식 데뷔곡 'District 9'(디스트릭트 9)부터 컴백 타이틀곡 '락 (樂)'까지 데뷔 이래 발매한 모든 앨범의 타이틀곡을 만든 3RACHA는 이번 음반으로 '스트레이 키즈'라는 독보적인 장르에 힘을 싣는다. 이외에도 멤버 현진을 비롯해 트래비스 스콧(Travis Scott), 드레이크(Drake) 등 해외 유명 힙합 아티스트 음반에 다수 참여한 독일 힙합 프로듀서 듀오 큐비츠(Cubeatz)의 케빈 곰링거(Kevin Gomringer)와 팀 곰링거(Tim Gomringer), 베르사최(VERSACHOI), 밀리언보이(Millionboy), 준이(JUN2) 등 국내외 유수 작가진이 협업해 완성도를 높였다.
 
타이틀곡 '락 (樂)'은 독특한 느낌의 멜로디를 통해 듣는 이의 흥을 돋우는 노래. "Welcome to 극락 (락) 날벼락 (락) 도시의 락 (락) 즐기면 그만 (락) 없지 고난 (락) 역경의 밤 (락) 지새우면 끝 고생 끝에 낙 (락)" 등 ‘락’을 활용한 워드플레이가 돋보이는 가사로 신선한 자극을 전한다. 또한 후렴구에 반복되는 사운드에 록적 요소를 가미해 스트레이 키즈 음악만의 강력한 중독성과 강렬함을 만끽할 수 있다.
 
2023년 10월 초 프롤로그 영상을 공개하고 본격적인 컴백 서막을 열었다. 공연을 앞둔 한 아이의 꿈과 시선을 빌려 신보가 품은 '희로애락'을 탄탄한 스토리라인으로 풀어내 팬들의 호기심을 유발한 것을 시작으로 비장한 분위기의 내레이션, 화려한 영상 효과, 멤버들의 물오른 비주얼의 향연으로 보는 ‘즐거움’을 제대로 끌어올렸다.
